Surfari Surf School

Our group of 6 kids ranged in age from 11-18. They all had a great time and felt like they received one on one attention. The instructors of Cole and Amber couldn’t of did a better job with the kids who all were first timers. Would highly recommend this experience in Ormond Beach!

We signed our 11 year old daughter up for a surf lesson while on Spring Break this year. She had a great time, 1:1 with the instructor. He took time to teach her the fundamentals, help her in the water and get her to a place where she could do it on her own. She loved it so much we went back the following day and rented surf boards and wet suits for the whole family. We also rented bikes on a different day, this shop has it all! They were great to work with, great products at a great price and fantastic staff. I highly recommend!

We had a great lesson with Cole. He was very patient with my daughter as she navigated the waves. After the lesson, I was stung by a stingray on left foot. After making my way back to the shop, the manager (I never got his name) knew exactly what to do (put the foot in very hot water). He kindly went across the street to retrieve the water and then counseled me throughout the one hour process (after which the pain subsided). What could have been an awful ordeal turned out to be quite pleasant (the store has chairs on the sidewalk to accommodate those those who have been "hit" by a stingray). For this reason alone, i would happily come back to Surfari.

Both of my grandchildren (10 &12) took lessons at Surfari. My granddaughter really took to it better than my grandson, but both were able to stand and ride a wave very quickly. The instructors assisted at first to get them started and then allowed them to progressively do it on their own. I would recommend allowing a day or two between lessons. It is a very exhausting activity that required them to use muscles in a different way than they have before. Great job by Matt and Cole.

I didn't have the best circumstances to learn how to surf (low tide, strong wind and waves coming from all directions), but my instructor was very good! He explained everything on the beach patiently and made me feel really comfortable. At the end of the surf lesson I already rode my first waves! After the lesson the first rent of a board and wetsuit are for free, even if it's not on the same day. So went back the next day for some more surfing fun! Everything was ready and I could just head out. Really enjoyed my time at Mission Beach!!
